Hey all, I was wondering if anyone could help me with an issue that I'm having getting the Pet Shop sample service deployed in the SCVMM 2012 beta for a demo. I've followed all of the steps outlined in the TechNet blog post about it, and it seems to be almost 100% successful in deploying. The SQL and Web tiers deploy successfully, but for some reason my Mid tier keeps hanging partway through the process. Eventually it times out and the Deploy job fails saying that it is unable to get a heartbeat from the mid-tier VM, and that the customization of the VM has failed at 71% complete. When I open the console of the mid-tier VM to see what it's doing I see the "Setup is Applying System Settings" screen from a Server 2008 R2 installation, with the following error message:
"Windows could not partse or process the unattend answer file for pass [specialize]. The settings specified in the answer file cannot be applied. The error was detected while processing settings for component [Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Setup]."
Any idea where to look? I have re-created my VM template for the mid-tier VM thinking that I made a mistake, but I still get the same error.
Also, I see that there is a stock trader demo app for the RC version of SCVMM 2012. Will the Pet Shop demo still work on the RC? I have a demo to do in a couple of days, after which I intend to rebuild with the RC and would still like to be able to deploy both services.
