Hi,
We've installed Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1 on one of our HP DL380 G3 systems. There are two Gigabit network adapters on this system. When we created the virutal server we want to select the network adapter that is not used by the main server where the VM is being installed, to give the VM it's own dedicated adapter.
However the issue is that both adapters have the same exact name on the OS ( both of them say HP NC7781 Gigabit Server Adapter). Now I'm not sure if i'm assigning the right one to the virtual host. Either way, we have assigned one of the adapterse for the virtual network. But don't know if its' the unused one!
The server is remote, so please don't ask to "turn one of them off and do a trial". If we turn the wrong one off, we won't be able to get back on the server.
Looking just at the network status and the number of send/receive packets, I can't tell.
The system is running Windows 2003 Enterprise SP2.
Thanks
Paul
