Access Denied for on node of clustered file server

I have a Hyper-V cluster managed by VMM using a general file server as VMM library.  The clustered file server is a guest cluster of VMs using shared VHD sets.

I've started to see Access Denied errors (0x80070005) using resources from the VMM library when the one specific node of the clustered file server is active. When the other node is active these Access Denied errors do not happen. These errors are also not showing up with normal file system access (e.g. through file explorer) regardless of which node is active.

I've checked the delegation and file system ACLs and they all appear correct - CIFS delegation to file server nodes and VIP from all hypervisor computer accounts, VMM service account and Hypervisor computer accounts read/execute permissions on all file server shares for VMM library.

I've restarted the troublesome node but no change.

Any other ideas as things to look at?
