SCVMM2012 Logic Switch Turns off AllowManagementOS setting on NIC

In my home lab I have a single NIC in each of my 2012 Hyper-V server node machines. I have a third machine that has 2012 SCVMM SP1 installed on it as my management machine.

I am trying to create and apply a Logical Switch to each of my Host nodes. Each time I do this I lose connectivity to the node. I have to KVM into the node and use a powershell command to turn 'AllowManagementOS' back on.

When creating all the port profiles and Logical Switch I do not see this option. When I go to the properties of the host in the SCVMM console I do have the checkmark for 'Used by management' on the Network adapter details.

Is there a limitation on Logical Switches that makes them unable to be used on a NIC that is needed for management? Or more likely am I just missing a step?

What other information can I provide to help?

Thanks,

Rick
