Hi,
I'm having trouble to get the shared ISO function up and running in SCVMM 2008 R2. When I try to assign an ISO to an VM I always get the following error:
Error (12700)
VMM cannot complete the Hyper-V operation on the hyperv.domain.com server because of the error: 'SRV' failed to add device 'Microsoft Virtual CD/DVD Disk'. (Virtual machine ID 72C356B5-BB7B-437B-9EAA-A9C5D77B24A8)
'Virtual Server': User Account does not have sufficient privilege to open attachment '\\SCVMM.domain.com\MSSCVMMLibrary\ISOs\en_windows_server_2008_r2_standard_enterprise_datacenter_and_web_x64_dvd_x15-59754.iso'. Error: 'General access denied error' (0x80070005). (Virtual machine ID 72C356B5-BB7B-437B-9EAA-A9C5D77B24A8)
(Unknown error (0x8001))
I already searched the forum and locked in the documentation, but nothing helped me to get this problem solved.
· SCVMM is installed on a separate Hardware.
· All Hyper-V Servers are installed as Server Core.
· All systems are members of the same domain.
· I configured the delegate permissions in ADUC for every Hyper-V server, to allow delegation for CIFS with the option "Use any authentication protocol" to the SCVMM server.
· I checked the share and NTFS permissions of the MSSCVMMLibrary Share / Directory to include the computer accounts of the Hyper-V Servers with read permissions. I also added the SCVMM service account with read permissions. The Administrators group and SYSTEM are added with "Full Control". I also found some comments to add the "Virtual Machine Manager Servers" Group to the permission. Some write to add "Authenticated Users" with "Read" permissions, which I also tried without any change. I even tested Everyone in the permissions with "Full Control". Nothing helped.
· I'm able to start the Hyper-V Management Console from the SCVMM server and assign the same ISO file from the shared path without problems.
What am I missing? Thanks for any help.
